It's one line to copy — or hop on a call and we'll add it with you. This is the honest truth: we don't log into your registrar for you, but we'll walk you through the single setting.
Transfer (optional, rarely needed)
"Transfer" means moving your domain's registration to a different registrar. You do not need to do this to switch to us. And if you ever buy a domain from us, there's no lock-in — you can transfer it out whenever you like. It stays yours.

Switching hosts is where people get scared — a wrong DNS change can take a website or email offline. So we built the migration to be cautious by default: nothing changes until you can see what it will do.

Before anything changes, we save an exact copy of your existing DNS records. If something looks off, you can restore those exact records at your own domain provider to put things back. We keep the copy for you — we never touch your registrar, so you stay in control.
A safe cutover order
Publish your new site → test it on a private preview link → keep your old site up → change one DNS record → check the site AND your email → retire the old host last. One caveat if your email is on your old host (cPanel/webmail): it works right up until you cancel, so confirm mail is flowing at your NEW email provider before you retire that host. Will I lose my Google ranking?
If people already find you on Google, this is the real question. Here's the honest answer — not a promise we can't keep.
Being straight with you: your pages are rebuilt here, not copied across automatically, and no honest platform can guarantee your rankings survive a rebuild unchanged. Google re-reads your new pages over time. But rankings usually hold — and often improve on a faster, healthier site — when you carry the important things across carefully. Here's how to protect what you've earned:
Keep your key web addresses
Match the addresses (URLs) of the pages that already rank — like /about or /services — so Google finds them in the same place.
Redirect the ones that change
Where an address has to change, set up a 301 redirect — a permanent forward that passes your ranking from the old address to the new one.
Keep the old site up during cutover
Leave your current site live until the new one is ready and tested, so there's never a gap where visitors or Google hit a dead page.

What if my web person or agency controls my domain?
Very common — a developer, agency, or old provider set up your domain and you've never had the login. You can still switch. Here's how to get back in control.
Ask for one thing: DNS access
To connect your site you only need to add one DNS record. Ask whoever manages your domain to add it (we give you the exact line), or to grant you access to the DNS settings. You don't need to move the whole domain.
Or take the domain back
Want full control? You can move your domain to a registrar in your own name. Ask them for the transfer code (also called an auth or EPP code) and to unlock the domain — it's yours to request, and legally they must provide it.

Bring your contacts in from a spreadsheet — names and email addresses are supported. Plan limits apply to how many contacts you can hold, and opt-out status isn't imported, so only bring people who actually opted in to hear from you.
Rebuild your site fast
Start from a template or let AI draft your pages, then paste in your text and images. Honest: your content is rebuilt here, not automatically scraped or imported from your old site.
On Etsy, Linktree, Carrd, or Big Cartel?
Creators and small sellers can move a rented bio-link page to a link-in-bio hub they actually own. The Brand / Creator template gives you a lookbook gallery, your social links, and an honest order form — buyers pick items and send you the order by email. Being honest: there's no built-in card checkout, so you arrange payment with your own link (e.g. PayPal, Stripe, or a local option). Browse it in the website templates.
Selling on a marketplace like Etsy? Build a storefront you own — your brand, your customer list, and their emails come to you directly, instead of renting space in someone else's search results. The honest trade-off: we're not a marketplace checkout, so buyers place orders through the order form and your own payment link (e.g. PayPal, Stripe, or a local option) rather than a one-click marketplace cart — and you bring your own traffic instead of the marketplace's. Keep Etsy running alongside it if you like; this is the site you control.
