What does this check actually do?+
Three real checks, no guesswork: (1) a live Google search for your business name (and city) to see whether you appear in the first results and what shows up instead; (2) if you give a website address, a scan of the page for the foundations Google reads — title, description, mobile setup, HTTPS, and structured data; (3) a read of your site's public robots.txt and llms.txt files to see whether the AI crawlers behind ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, and Google's AI features are allowed to read your site.
Can it tell me whether ChatGPT knows my business?+
Not from here — and we won't pretend it can. What we can genuinely observe is whether AI engines are allowed to read your site (their crawlers, your robots.txt, your llms.txt). I don't have a website yet — is the check still useful?+
Yes. The Google lookup works from just your name and city, and it shows you what customers currently find when they search for you. Is anything I type stored?+
